Delivery of the PV installation and planning work
The modules are delivered by our partners on the day of assembly – the customer has nothing to worry about. Before the work starts, the engineers look at how the solar system can be installed on site in the quickest and easiest way. Dimensions are important here, ie where the panel surface should start and end, and where the roof hooks should be used or where the inverter should be placed and how the cables should be laid. After the plan has been discussed, the installation begins. If additional work is required on the existing electrical installation, this can be carried out according to the customer’s wishes by our installation partner or the customer can have it done by the electrician.
Precise laying of the substructure
The installation of the PV substructure is very labour-intensive, but once firmly anchored, progress can be made very quickly. Depending on the type of roof and the mounting system, the substructure looks different. The main parts: roof hooks, fixing screws and aluminum rails or frame. The first step in installing a system on the roof is to attach roof hooks to, for example, a tiled roof. To fix it, the roof covering must be removed or cut out in the place intended for the location of the hooks and then re-fitted. Then the rails are attached, which also support the system. These are then screwed together.
Connect the DC wiring properly
Before mounting the solar panels, the solar cable must be in place (at least on the roof). Photovoltaic systems on single-family homes are often divided into several strings and the modules are connected in series.
Final assembly of the photovoltaic modules
The solar panel is carried by professionals to the right place on the roof. The solar module is then mounted with several clamps and an accurate eyelet or the modules are placed in special rail systems. Both systems are ready in no time.
Install inverter and surge protector
If you compare a PV system with a solar system, the inverter forms a star, the solar panels resemble the planets and the connection technology corresponds to the orbits. The photovoltaic inverter is therefore usually installed directly in the technical room. The closer the inverter is to the meter box, the easier it is to lay the AC cable. In principle, the DC overvoltage protection is already added to the inverter; if the cable length is longer, an additional, external junction box is installed. AC wiring with strong attraction: After the direct current is converted to alternating current, it must also be routed further to the meter box. The cable is also connected to the inverter and laid in the cable duct up to the meter cupboard. Once there, it’s connected.
Mount energy storage as an extension (optional)
If desired and required, an energy storage unit can also be installed, which considerably increases energy independence. The hybrid inverters we use can be used for both PV modules and storage. Storage and inverter must be housed in the same room.
Verification, measurement and final operating permit
When the installation of the system, which we can usually do in one day, is completed, a test run must be carried out. After construction, the assembly team reports to the customer and reports completion to the network operator. In the next step, the customers receive the operating license by e-mail from the grid operator. From then on it’s time to sit back and enjoy!
