Russia’s Nord Stream pipeline has suspended gas deliveries to Germany until July 21 for maintenance.
Germany will no longer receive Russian gas this Monday due to the Nord Stream Pipelineas planned by the infrastructure manager for its maintenance, but the Berlin authorities fear a final cut and have warned of an emergency if shipments are not resumed.
The German government has declined to speculate about what will happen after July 21, the official date on which the… maintenance tasks and the flow of Russian gas is restored, although it has acknowledged that the situation is “tense” and “very serious”
In a regular press conference Susanne Ungraddeputy spokesperson for Economy, has assured that: “until now, the security of supply is guaranteed” and added that there is currently no talk of pronouncing the next level in the gas emergency plan, which would involve state intervention in the market to regulate power.
The emergency plan has been in effect since June 23, when it was announced due to the decline in supply from Russia and high prices.
In general, the warehouses in Germany are filled to at 64.6% and it is targeting levels of 80% on October 1 and 90% on November 1 to cope with the colder months.
