Damage is huge – fire in the traditional inn: it was arson

Date:

Only two days after the provisional closure, a fire placed the Innsbruck traditional Inn Stieglbräu on Monday in the early morning hours in ruins and ashes. After using the fire researchers, it is now clear: the fire has been laid.

Here the (political) fame of Tyrol has been coming together for decades, here the legendary, deceased long-term state captain Eduard Wallnöfer (ÖVP) even stopped “office hours” and now this Inferno!

Close smoke, just a stone’s throw from the country house in Innsbruck, caused an alarm on Monday around 4.30 am and smoke broke out of the Stieglbräu. “It was worse on the side of the guest garden. The fire control attack then found both Wilhelm-Gureil-Straße and Salurner Straße place,” says Marco Eller, who took over operational management in the Professional Fire Brigade at 7 am.

The fire could be absorbed fairly quickly, but the smoke registered the apartments. A total of eight people came out themselves. According to the salvation, five people were brought to the clinic. “With suspicion of flue gas poisoning,” police spokesperson Christian Viehweider added.

Sufficiently damaged rooms protected with supports
The rooms were largely destroyed. In the morning they even had to be supported for safety reasons. “However, the building could be released from the third floor,” said Eller.

Paul Klingler’s doctor on the 1st floor caught a little worse. “The furniture and the devices are sooty, unfortunately I have to cancel the patient of the coming days,” the doctor said while watching the clean work work. In any case, the total damage to the building must be enormous.

Brander -researchers talk about “punishable action”
In the morning, fire investors from the police recorded their work in the once pleasant rooms. In the late afternoon the news: the fire researchers assume that the fire was laid. “A deliberate, criminal act can currently be adopted,” says the formulation. Further surveys are underway.

Old tenant was last open on Saturday
According to an employee of Stieglbräu, on Saturday was the last opening day on Saturday, the current tenant apparently threw the towel. Then it had already started to erase the traditional inn. A bankruptcy had already occurred in 2022, because the reason was called Corona.
