For the ESC 2026 – Linz and Wels make serious and apply

Many thought it was a joke of the fool of the end of April, but now Wels and Linz have really applied for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Austria. The two cities have officially shown their interest on Wednesday and have already prepared the accompanying documents.

“Wels and Linz are ready for the ESC!” A common press release starts with these words. One will certainly meet the minimum requirements for the worldwide of the largest music event and the selection process with multiple internship will be confronted.

Team is already standing
The application team for the ESC is wide and high in Upper Austria. Support also from the country
But the state of Upper Austria has already assured to support the efforts of the two largest cities in the state. The requirements – from the infrastructure to indoor capacity, the international connection and the sufficient accommodation to organizational implementation concepts – are in any case good at Wels and Linz.
