The “resilience” of Japanese Lander on the Moon broken

Date:

The private Japanese space company ISPACE failed on Friday to land his country “resilience” on the moon. The unmanned probe lost contact with the ground station when I approached and beaten the nice earth.

A provisional analysis indicates a sensor error. That is why the spacecraft, which had to put on in the so -called mare Frigoris (sea of the cold) in the far north of the moon, could not delay sufficiently and landed hard on the surface. Already in 2023, ISPACE had a similar failure in the course of the “Hakuto -R” mission.

The control center had activated the engines during the landing test to inhibit “resilience”. “We could confirm that the position of the landing almost reached the vertical,” said Isspace -Baas Takeshi Hakamada. But after the planned landing period, “we could not receive data that confirm a landing”.

It would have been the third time that a private company succeeded in landing on the moon. The start-up ISPACE would be the first of these companies that are not located in the United States. The landscape device was brought into space in January with a “Falcon-9” rocket from Cape Canaveral samen with the Moonland “Blue Ghost” by the US Company Firefly Aerospace.

Mini House and Rover on board
In addition to various scientific instruments, “resilience” had the mini-rover “holding” on board, which was developed by the subsidiary of Isspace ISPACE-Erope from Luxembourg. It has to drive around on the surface of the moon, take photos and collect loose material with a shovel.

Moreover, the country had a Red Mini House – an art project of the Sweden Mikael Genberg – on board, which had to be placed on the earth.
