A serious work accident took place on Friday in the Valley station of the Hintertux Glacier Railways. A 25-year-old was seriously injured. He was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck with the rescue helicopter.
Terrible scenes took place on Friday around 11:25 am at the Valley station of the “Glacier Bus 1” Railway. There were three employees (25, 29 and 34) with revision work. The 25-year-old was in the so-called “train station” on the “Besseranstange” to check the “final switch” there, because the police provide information.
The young man granted the 34-year-old to lift the system. The 29-year-old was in the neighborhood and had eye contact with the 25-year-old.
In the beginning everything was fine, as the 25-year-old confirmed several times. But suddenly he called “Stop”.
The 34-year-old immediately did the emergency. For an unknown cause, however, the 25-year-old was stuck with his head between a sturdy mounted iron railing and the iron carrier directly above, which brought him to light serious injury.
Six meters coupled
The other two employees and other employees who were engaged could free the prisoners. The 25-year-old was subsequently crammed by the mountain range and the fire brigade from a height of approximately six meters and transferred to the rescue team. After the offer, the serious wounded was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck with the rescue helicopter.
