A 55-year-old Salzburg reported his wife as missing. However, it turned out that he had never seen her before and was the victim of a love fraud on the internet.
The 55-year-old reported on Friday at the Salzburg-Hauptbahnhof Police Inspectorate that he could not reach his wife. He wanted to give up a report of a missing person, the man said.
Never met alleged marriages
During the interrogation he turned out to be supposedly never trusted. He came in contact with her on the internet two years ago and never met her.

The Salzburger had already cost his love a lot: in two years he transferred a total of 8,000 euros to the unknown. He also concluded an online marriage contract.
The police again warn against dubious contacts on the internet and for foreign transfers to unknown recipients.
