No Attempted Murder – 6 Years In Prison For Stein Prison Attack

Date:

The prisoner allegedly attacked the guard with a knife. In the years before that, he was always striking. He sympathized with the Nazi regime and the IS and repeatedly called for resistance. The man was acquitted of attempted murder on the second day of the trial! He has to go to jail for another 6 years for, among other things, grievous bodily harm.

Disputes with fellow inmates, attacks on guards and escape attempts – “He makes it difficult for the prison guards every day,” says the prosecutor, who describes the accused in the Krems regional court. The climax then came in December: the imprisoned Chechen (26) allegedly attacked a guard at Stein prison with a cutlery knife – he is charged with attempted murder.

Stitches towards the neck
He would have thought through the attack carefully: on the day he was transferred, he prepared the knife, put on extra layers of clothing and flooded the cell. When the police arrived, he allegedly stabbed her twice in the neck. Didn’t catch him though.

Knife as a screwdriver
According to the indictment, there was clearly attempted murder. The prisoner’s lawyer sees it differently: “In the end he is a desperate person. We are still a long way from murder!” The knife is also completely unsuitable for life-threatening injuries. His client simply grounds it so it can be used as a screwdriver.

acquitted of attempted murder
The jury agrees: they sentence the prisoner to another 6 years in prison, but also for aggravated assault. He is acquitted of attempted murder. He can’t hope for parole for good behavior… the verdict is not final.
