Summer is already back on Wednesday and Thursday with higher temperatures of up to 34 degrees Celsius. From next week, however, an extreme heat wave will spread across Austria, with as much as 38 degrees!
After the brief temperature rise, isolated evening thunderstorms herald a short cold front in the south on Friday. Otherwise it will remain warm and dry throughout the north of Austria on Friday. The weekend will be as warm as summer and will not exceed 30 degrees.
Heat wave is approaching
A heat wave of up to 38 degrees is forecast for the coming week. Therefore, it should remain warm and dry throughout Austria until the weekend. Only in the west can isolated thunderstorms develop on Thursday, which will then provide a significant cooling on Friday.
Flattens out on the weekend
In the rest of the country, the heat wave will level off by the weekend and bring pleasant temperatures, probably up to 26 degrees. The heat wave, currently gripping the Iberian Peninsula, will spread over the next week to us in the northeast as well as through southern France, southern Italy and Sicily into the central and eastern Mediterranean. According to the forecasts, temperatures of up to 45 degrees can be expected in places in southern Europe.
