Loose criteria – After reforms: “File Jam” for the Innsbruck living office

Date:

Innsbruck has relaxed the criteria for access to a city apartment – and apparently fights with a stream of interested parties and affected it: these have questions.

The alleged or actual housing case in Innsbruck: since the relocation of the municipal housing office it has been visible than ever. Recently there was a queue on the site on Bürgerstrasse, which extended to the sidewalk and continued further meters there.

Triple Change: New Place, New Award, New Platform
The file is apparently a consequence of a larger “system change” in the Innsbruck housing system: on the one hand the award criteria were detached, which expanded the group of rights. On the other hand, a allocation platform was launched on the internet, which is intended to make the allocation faster and more transparent and to make ends meet with less bureaucracy. Interested parties can, for example, actively choose a suitable apartment instead of being assigned to it as before.

The allocation platform went online at the beginning of June and at the same time the housing service office was moved from the 2nd floor in the town hall from Eite to Bürgerstrasse. Residents and also apartment advertisers were informed by post and e -mail about the extensive innovations.

Office for Housing Service now responsible for almost everything
This can be an explanation for the recent file in the Housing Office of Innsbruck. Many Innsbruck women seem to be overwhelmed. “It is clear that such an extensive system change raises many questions,” says Benjamin Plach, SP City Party Leader and chairman of the Innsbruck Housing Committee. The feedback he has received so far extends from approving to reject. In his position he has decided on the new guidelines. Efforts have been made to cover various cases of difficult living situations through the reform. In clear language: the office is responsible for almost everything, the committee only manages to do special business.

Increased pressure on the Housing Housing Market
Plach, Plach, cannot say whether the number of apartment seekers, who has always converted between 2000 and 2500 in recent years, has increased considerably: “I have to refer to the politically responsible Vice-BM Georg Willi. But we have been seeing an elevated pressure on the housing market for a long time.”

The admission requirements for a city apartment in Innsbruck are now: four years residence in Innsbruck instead of five as before, and instead of a six -year -old, a four -year -old -even small employment is sufficient.
