Required rescue for the rescue staff in Göstling (Lower Austria): a woman injured her leg during a tour. She had to be restored lying down at stairs and ladders.
The Mountain Rescue Göstling was warned of an unusual use. An emergency had occurred in the top of the top car – also known as “top class”. With a total length of more than 650 meters, it is one of the largest caves in Lower Austria and is only accessible with local leaders. In the course of one of these tours, a participant injured her leg for the previously unknown reason.
Nothing left – the Mountain Rescue, including an emergency doctor, moved to save the accident. The woman had to be transferred to the entrance of the shaft by means of a vacuum mattress – partly over ladders and metal steps. Then the wounded person went to the hospital through an emergency helicopter.
