On Tuesday, during his visit to Austria, he signed a pact to cooperate more closely in this energy crisis. German Economic Affairs Minister Robert Habeck has now tested positive for the corona virus.
Both a rapid test and a PCR test were positive, a spokeswoman for the minister said on Wednesday evening. He went into isolation in accordance with legal requirements. All attendance appointments would be cancelled. Habeck handles the official business from home.
Intensive day in Vienna
The day before, Habeck had made an eight-hour tour of Vienna, which took him from the Ministry of the Environment to the Chancellery, to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and to the Hofburg. Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler was also on the program, but a corona infection thwarted him from all people who are friends with Habeck.
It remains to be seen whether other ministerial colleagues should follow Kogler into quarantine for having contact with Habeck. According to reports, Habeck was still negative before his visit to the Hofburg.
