It was exactly ten years ago that Alen R. with his SUV raced by Graz, people down, killed and injured. Even today, victims are still fighting for the financial compensation for the Horror Act.
The murder of Borg Dreierschützengasse will cause a long time, anger and despair. In the middle of this dismay, Graz remembers an event that many participants are still in the bones ten years later. We’re talking about Alen R .. With his off -road vehicle, he ran through the city center on 20 June 2015 and aimed at people. Three died, 36 others were seriously injured. The murderer was sentenced to life in prison, in September 2023 in his cell in the Stein Justice – still his innocence in a farewell letter – but life.
Trust in safety intensively violated
The Graz lawyer Gunther Ledolter played an essential part. In the course of the lawsuit he represented around 50 victims. And even now this fatal event is still not complete for him: “At that time it was not foreseeable that this case will still be accompanied today. But for many victims it was such intensive, traumatic event. In their confidence in safety it just injured them so that they can no longer live as before.”
Some are still unable to pursue their old work, which means that there are claims for merit. “Although it is not possible to say how high the requirements are, because some people could not complete their training at all. Or for those affected with independence, the entire customer supply has been broken by the long time of non-usability,” the lawyer adds. In his opinion, the victims struggle even more intensively, because the Amocran was not a fatal accident: “These were deliberately caused injuries.”
What is the following? “An end is not really in sight. You can’t blame anyone.
