Caution, heat stroke! Leaving the beloved four -legged friend in the vehicle to make a small purchase is an absolute taboo in the summer: in warm weather, cars can quickly become a death trap.
At high temperatures, the vehicle can heat itself in such a way that “the dog suffers a heat stroke and dies from multiples organ failure,” warns four PAW family experts Julia Eppinger. Especially when a car is in the sun, the temperatures can quickly rise in four legs.
“With a summer 28 degrees of outside temperature, it is already 44 degrees in the car after 30 minutes. And at 36 degrees outside temperature, the car heats after just 30 minutes to 52 degrees,” said the NGO animal welfare.
So you can help
If you discover a dog in an overheated car, you must first try to find the owner. If this is not possible, four PAWs recommend that the police or fire brigade will be informed immediately. “In acute emergency situations, the disk can also be taken – ideally after documentation of the situation with photos or videos and in the presence of witnesses,” the NGO said.
