Tragic end of a walk in the wilderness of North California. Three hikers jumped in the rattlesnake -waterfall to cool – none of them appeared for the horror of three other friends. The corpses of the men could only be restored after searching for three days.
Valentino Creus traveled in the forests of Soda Springs with five academics colleagues from the “International Circle of Genetic Studies”. The experienced hikers had chosen an extremely demanding and remote path at high heat levels. That is why Creus (59), Matthew Schoenecker (50) and Matthew Anthony (44) decided to stop on the waterfall halfway and jump out of a stone in the KristalConclar water.
When they did not return, the colleagues who stayed behind had to run for a few hours before they received again and could warn the emergency call by mobile phone.
Regulation extremely difficult
The Sheriff’s Office of the Placer County and a Cal Fire fire brigade flew to the waterfall as close as possible with the help of a helicopter. Nevertheless, they had to run for three hours with the entire equipment before they were on the site. A police spokesperson: “The storage room was very difficult for the divers. The water was very chock, the current was unpredictable and the view is bad.”
Autopsy
Why the three men drowned, who still have to result in the autopsy. According to the authorities of Placer County, it is most likely that the three victims had suffered a cold shock or immediate hypothermia by jumping into the ice -cold water. The consequence of this is to suspend breathing, inhale a reflexive inhaling with the following fainting.
