When the algae die and rotten on the beaches of France, toxic gases are made. This can also be life threatening for people.
With millions of effort, the authorities make thousands of tons of algae from the bath beaches every year. The man’s death had fueled the discussion about the algae plague in France.
A court has now given the state of France to the death of a jogger who in 2016 had inhaled poisonous gases of algae on a beach in West -Frankrijk. The corresponding judgment was made on Tuesday.
According to the administrative court in Nantes, the State has not implemented European and national regulations to protect waters against dirt through agriculture.
State the widow must compensate and three children of the couple
While a court in the first instance still rejected the lawsuit of the family members and was considered heart failure, the administrative court now accepted fatal poisoning by inhaling hydrogen sulfide in high concentration. This was proven during investigations on the spot. The court sentenced the State to compensate the widow of the jogger and the three children of the couple.
Laxistic agriculture has been in the Pillow for decades
The factory farming with its Nitrat -Rich Bilaters has been in Brittany for decades as the cause of the annual algae plague on a number of beaches. A particularly large number of animals are increased industrially in the western French region. More than half of French pig production and a third of poultry agriculture are located in Brittany, just like almost a quarter of milk production.
Environmental associations have already had a number of judicial decisions in recent years. Despite state plans to reduce nitrate pollution and a strict regulation for the exposure of manure, the problem is not fundamentally improved.
