The 34-year-old Andreas did not want to grab the opportunity to seriously darken his stem cells. It was a special business for the heart for Andreas because he had lost his grandfather in Leukemia years ago.
The probability that the genes of two people fit together and a stem cell donation is possible is 1 to 500,000. But fate apparently wanted Andreas F. (34) from Rainbach imninkreis his genetic twins.
In the beginning, it was considered fake boundary
“In January I received a message that I might be a donor. Since the chance was relatively small, I couldn’t believe it in the beginning. But what I thought was a fake message, but after the first phone call,” said the 34-year-old, who was registered with his wife with his wife “Give for Life” by means of a typetet.
Thought of deceased grandfather
After the phone call, the locksmith immediately made it clear that he wanted to help the person involved in any case. “When the question came if I would like to make the donation, I was reminded of my deceased grandfather who suffered from leukemia. That was why I immediately realized that I would not hesitate to give a leukemia patient the chance to give a life,” says the Innviertler.
Donate well survived
After taking a blood from the doctor, it was determined that the 34-year-old was actually considered a helper. “The donation itself lasted only two hours and 15 minutes and was absolutely pain -free”, Andreas F. is glad he helped: “Immediately after the donation I was a bit of fun, like a flu. The next day everything was fine.”
If you helped with his donation, it is secret. “I only know it was a man from Germany. But it doesn’t matter who – the most important thing is that I could help.”
