On Monday afternoon there was a serious traffic accident in favorites of Vienna. Because a steering wheel (70) crashed into a vehicle column for an unknown cause despite the red traffic light. Due to the violent power of the impact, one of the cars was thrown against the tram of line 11.
A total of four cars and the BIM were involved in the Raxstrasse accident. Five people were seriously injured. The 70-year-old and his 77-year-old passenger were seriously injured in the accident. Nobody was injured in the tram.

The emergency services insured the place of the accident and supported the rescue workers in the care of the wounded. To free one of the steering wheel of the wreck, the car door had to be removed with hydraulic device.
Case of the accident unclear
The damaged vehicles were removed. The exact cause of the accident is currently unclear and is determined by the police.
