In the cathedral city of Cologne, the term “playground” will no longer be used in the future – the town hall finds the name “separated” and wants to ban it from the cityscape. About 700 plates must be replaced.
The Welfare Committee of the Town Hall presented plans in this regard, as the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” reported. In the project with the name “Development of a new information sign for the Keulenpel, Bolz and Action Areas” it turned out that the signs with the inscription “playground” were no longer up -to -date.

Because the former playgrounds are not only intended for children, but rather “playing, movement and action areas”, who “serve the protected stay of children and young people in the public space”.
