The primary school in the middle of the center of Zell am See in Salzburg is about to close. The director says goodbye after a year of double line. Other teachers can be moved. Now the feverish search for support is being carried out.
The continued existence of primary school in the center of the district capital is in the suspension. Teachers are urgently sought, so far without success. 106 children and their families hang in the air.
After a year, the director is again fully devoted to the Saalbach Elementary School. It was clear from the start that she only agreed to run both schools for a year. In order to constantly share attention and to cope with the distance between the locations, in this case it is not only difficult, my critic of increasing the staff shortage in schools.
Five teachers are missing
In addition to the director, five teachers are now missing. About a third of the 13 teachers could be moved. Even more frequent changes in the student, who had arisen in the neighborhood due to refugee accommodation, have become too much for some, it is said.
Now the search for teachers is feverish. If this fails, the children can be temporarily divided into the other two Zeller -Basis Schools in Thumersbach and Schüttdorf.
“This is a purely emergency scenario. We have been informed by the educational directorate in the very short term. The position of the municipality is very clear: the location must be saved,” said Mayor Andreas Wimmreuter. He was also looking for a teacher. “A retired teacher has already promised me that she could intervene.” His call to all teachers: “Please contact us!”
