A German alpinist was the first person to flew the Mount Nanga Parbat with a paraglider. Earlier David Göttler had to stop four attempts due to bad weather conditions. The 30 -minute flight was a “magical moment,” Göttler said.
He reached the top of the eight -thousand meters in West -Himalayas with two teammates, to only slide at a height of 7700 meters. According to the local tourist authority in Pakistan, this was the first known paragliding from Nanga Parbat. He had to stop four attempts to climb the top over the extremely steep Rupal wall and then sail down, said the 47-year-old Alpinist.
Even in the fifth attempt, extremely strong wind would have prevented the top of the top. Göttler then climbed back to 7700 meters, where he could open the paraglider. He and his team with two members climbed the eight thousand meters in the Alpine style, ie with minimal tools and without the mountain guides known as Sherpas.
Here you can see a photo of the team:
The Göttler team also reached an unusual descent: the man and the woman put parts of the mountain back on skis. David Göttler was not on the Nanga Parbat in Pakistan for the first time, such as reports and recordings.
