For the Supreme Court of the Bronx, the lawyer of Hossein Nick Liakas had accused the serious negligence of MTA by poor maintenance of the metro station, which led to the serious accident. In the report, emergency doctor Dr. Kashaul Shah that the patient had suffered injuries everywhere in the body: “His left foot was so distorted that the toes 1 to 5. Had to be amputated.”

According to Liakas, the MTA tried to put pressure on his client in the hospital and to accept a compensation of $ 100,000. He refused and went to court. Liakas placed the MTA as a “powerful company”, which had tried from the start “to avoid his responsibility through delay tactics and intimidation.”

Thanks to the jury’s opinion, the former bicycle supplier is now tens of millionaire. The latter announced in the “New York Post”: “The jury looked through the lies and gave me a second chance to lead a normal life.”
