After the fire in the demolition farm in Bischofshofen, the detectives were already on site on Saturday. Experts and sniffer dogs are certain: an external source of ignition must have caused the fire.
The public prosecutor of Salzburg called in a sworn fire expert from the Salzburger Landesbureau for Fire Prevention on Saturday. The area where the fire broke out at Lackenhof in Bischofshofen was quickly reduced to the second floor. A technical defect was quickly ruled out because the building no longer had a power connection. A special sniffer dog then put the fire investigators on the trail of fire accelerators in the rubble.
The roof truss was already fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on Friday evening. With heavy respiratory protection, firefighters from Bischofshofen and Werfen were still looking for a suspected homeless person in the building. However, they found no one in the house. With the help of an excavator, the burning roof truss was largely removed, because otherwise the building was in danger of collapsing.
