In Edesheim in the southwest of Germany, various liters of red wine were led to a stream on Monday evening. Residents chose the emergency call. When the emergency services arrived, they made a sad discovery: various fish were already dead.
The residents became aware of the wine in Modenbach and alarmed fire brigade and police. The red color of the water and the striking scent had noticed the red discoloration of the Edesheimers, the police said.
The emergency services showed that the wine flowed into the current through a hose. The snake led to a wine tank with a capacity of 30,000 liters. Various fish did not survive this, the emergency services found the dead animals in the water.
It is still unclear whether it is an accident and how much red wine has flowed into the current. The criminal police are investigating a possible water pollution.
