After a 40-year-old Bosnian was brutally stabbed by two men in Marchtrenk (Upper Austria) on Friday morning and died of his injuries a short time later, the suspects were interrogated by the police for the first time in the afternoon. However, the 40-year-old Montenegrin and his colleague (19) were not very talkative. There is still no trace of the murder weapon.
Friday at 9.30 am in the residential area in Marchtrunk, right next to the B1, there was little left of a murder. A neighbor was already spraying the traces of the crime off the street with a garden hose. And the police and forensic detectives had also completed their initial investigations.
Horrible bloody act on a public road
Only two hours earlier a terrible bloody crime had taken place on the street there – directly in front of a warehouse for construction site gratings. At 7:23 a.m., the police received an emergency call: a woman raised the alarm that a man was lying on the street with serious cuts. She had seen a car with two occupants pull over the pedestrian and the passenger stabbed him several times with a knife. The two men then drove off.
A large contingent of rescuers immediately rushed to the settlement of Marchtrenk. Officers in body armor and machine guns controlled all entrances to the city. “I left the house shortly before and there was nothing,” a neighbor was unaware of the alleged murder right outside his door. So while the emergency services at the scene fought for the life of the 40-year-old Bosnian – his identity was still unclear at the beginning because the victim did not have an ID with him – an intensive search was carried out for the two escapees. .
Fugitives caught on the highway and in a cafe
The alleged main perpetrator – a 40-year-old Montenegrin – was recognized by a patrol in his getaway car at 8:50 am. He was stopped by the Cobra special unit on the A7 towards the city center in front of the Bindermichl tunnel. At 9:20 a.m., a suspected 19-year-old was arrested without resistance at a cafe in the neighboring town of Traun. Unfortunately, the Bosnian had already succumbed to his serious injuries in hospital.
It was not clear on Friday why the three men from the Balkans had ended up in this bloody confrontation. At the first interrogation they were not very talkative and the interrogations lasted all afternoon.
There is still no trace of the murder weapon
Victims and perpetrators may have known each other and all worked at the campsite. “When I went to sleep around 11 p.m. on Thursday, the light was still on there – but that could also have been the motion detector,” recalls one resident. Another would have received several missed calls on his mobile phone during the night from the campsite owner and from an unknown number from Montenegro. Incidentally, the fenced area is equipped with several cameras on which the act must actually be visible – provided they also film. There was no trace of the murder weapon – a knife – for the time being.
