A 14-year-old girl died on Thursday on a roller coaster at an amusement park in Denmark – the back seat is said to have come loose while driving in the horror accident. Two other people were injured, including a 13-year-old. It wasn’t the first accident that happened on the ride called “Cobra”…
After the fatal accident, the affected roller coaster was already permanently closed. The Aarhus-based Tivoli Friheden announced this on Friday. After a previous accident in 2008 and the current one, there is no longer any confidence that the ride can be safe enough, says park director Henrik Ragborg Olsen in a statement.
Investigation can take several months
According to eyewitnesses, the ride’s rear seats simply broke off the rest of the gondola, the newspaper said „Århus Stiftstidende” reported. The park remained closed on Friday. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, which Tivoli said could take several months. After the investigation, the roller coaster is then disassembled and removed.
There had already been an accident in the ride in 2008. At the time, four people were injured when one of the cars suddenly came loose.
