First the result, now algae carpet: at the Bathing Lake Burg (Burgenland) there are increasing complaints about itchy skin reactions and a thick layer of algae in the bank area. While the community calms down, the owner of the Sea House alarm sounds.
Instead of carefree bathing pleasure, many guests of the Burger Stause currently experience an unpleasant surprise: itching, rash, pustules – so strong that even a visit to the hospital was necessary. Equaria is probably responsible for this. “I only cooled myself for a short time and the next day I was full of red dots,” says a bathing guest.
Zerkaria loves warm water
The microscopic larvae occur at high water temperatures. Water birds, especially larger duck populations, also promote their distribution. However, the community soothes: the water is hygienic harmless.
Nevertheless, more and more guests report complaints, a smoother that was hit by a strong result made the alarm on the community last week. “There you come across deaf ears,” it says.
At the same time, a different development causes problems: a thick layer of algae has formed in different bank areas of the lake, especially in quieter zones without water movement. Reporting homeowners of a maximum of 30 centimeters thick. “It’s especially bad with three or four houses,” says a resident.
“Christmas trees” grow under the water
“Going into the water is hardly possible, only from the jetty.” Aquatic plants are already growing under the algae layer. “It looks like small Christmas trees.” The cause of the algae problem differs from the zerkaria.
Due to the flooding of the previous year, Nitraten and Nitrites increased in the lake. The residents of the Seehäuser said that the residues from surrounding areas have stimulated algae and plant growth en masse. Their criticism is mainly focused on the community that Lake was not completely empty after the flood.
Despite the problems, there are also positive developments. After the flood of the century, most renovation work on the Seehäuser is now completed.
Grateful for the financial help of the country
Many owners are grateful: “After all, the fact that we have received money from the flood fund was not a matter, the houses are holiday apartments.”
