Next fatal bath drama in Vorarlberg: After a 24-year-old Viennese drowned Monday evening in Lake Constance, a 75-year-old from Lustenau crashed into the Old Rhine near Altach on Friday and could only be found dead. The bad: His wife tried to save the man, but couldn’t keep him upright.

While the woman was returned safely to shore, the water rescue divers were not able to locate the sunken swimmer at a depth of nearly 14 meters until around 6:30 p.m., eventually rescuing it lifeless. All help came too late for the 75-year-old. The reported crisis intervention team then had to take care of the wife of the drowned man.
This increases the number of people killed in swimming accidents in Vorarlberg this year to four. In May a four-year-old boy in Nenzing fell while playing in a stream and was swept away, in June a 22-year-old fell off a stand-up paddleboard in Hard and then drowned in Lake Constance – just like the 24-year-old Viennese who died last Monday. panicked and sank in the Bregenzer Wocherhafen.
