Shocking moment for two paragliding pilots on Sunday afternoon in Neustift! The two Germans caught their parachutes shortly after takeoff. While one managed to catch his paraglider, the co-pilot crashed and landed in a forest.
Just before 3 p.m., two Germans, aged 60 and 68, set off with their paragliders from the starting point of the Elferlift in Neustift. At about 3:00 p.m., their flight paths crossed and the two canopies became entangled.
They managed to separate the screens again. The 60-year-old was then able to intercept his plane and land independently on the landing field. The 68-year-old, on the other hand, fell from a height of about 1,470 meters into a forest area and had to be rescued by the Neustift mountain rescue service.
