On Sunday evening, a 27-year-old man could only be rescued dead from Schwarzlsee near Graz. How the accident could have happened is currently being investigated.
The 27-year-old man from Turkey was visiting family with whom he treated himself to a day of swimming at Schwarzlsee on Sunday. At the beginning of the evening he was suddenly nowhere to be found, so his family called the authorities around 7:30 pm. A major search began immediately.
Found dead near the coast
In addition to the Unterpremstätten fire brigade, the diving squadron of the Graz/Graz area was also on site, the water rescue team was present, as well as the police dog squadron and the Red Cross.
At 8:50 p.m., divers finally found the man’s lifeless body near the shore. It is still unclear how the fatal accident could have happened. The man’s relatives were taken care of by the Red Cross and the crisis intervention team.
