Death drama on a farm in Flachgau in Salzburg! Two boys (8.9) climbed around on a tractor with a tipper on Monday. Then the tragic accident happened.
The background of the accident is not yet clear. Fact is: According to the police, the tipper was loaded with grain, the farmer and his father were standing next to the tractor. The tipper was raised to about 45 degrees at the front and angled slightly aft – allowing the grain to be lowered through a mounted pipe. From this tube the grain fell into a hopper and was further transported via a so-called screw drive. The farmer started the driveway and then went into the stable of the estate. His father stayed with the trailer.
Nine-year-old buried in grain
The two children used the tilt of the tipper as a slide. They climbed up from the back of the ship over the forward sight, then slid down. Then it happened: The flowing grain apparently developed such a strong suction that the nine-year-old was buried under the grain. The eight-year-old immediately called for help.
The farmer freed the now unconscious boy. The emergency doctor went outside and the rescue helicopter took the seriously injured man to Salzburg State Hospital. The nine-year-old died there around midnight.
