Serious accident on the Kaunertalstraße L18 in the Kaunertal in the Tyrolean Landeck on Tuesday! In the gallery of Schwarzmuren there was a head-on collision between two cars that injured a boy (14) and a 49-year-old. The result was a total blockage of the road.
The accident happened later in the afternoon. A local (47) drove his car along the L18 from Prutz towards Kaunertal. His son (14) was in the front passenger seat and his wife (41) in the back seat. At the same time, an Israeli driver (50) drove in the opposite direction with his wife (49) in the passenger seat.
“In the Schwarzmurengalerie, the 50-year-old’s vehicle came into the oncoming lane for unclear reasons and collided head-on with the 47-year-old’s car,” police said.
Prisoners were able to free themselves
The occupants of both vehicles were able to free themselves and exit the tunnel. However, the youngster and the 49-year-old had to be taken to Zams hospital with injuries from the rescue helicopter or ambulance. About 20 Floriani disciples and three police patrols were also deployed.
The L18 had to be completely shut down for about two hours.
