He causes chaos and is famous for it: Emu “Emmanuel” is currently collecting millions of clicks on social networks. The reason: The bird, which lives on a farm in South Florida, regularly bursts out in its owner Taylor Blake’s TikTok videos, attacking the camera with its beak.
In one of the videos, Blake is standing next to a cow when the emu bursts into the frame and peers curiously into the lens. “Emmanuel, don’t,” the farmer scolds. In another video, the bird pecks at the camera and doesn’t let go until the farmer addresses him by his full name: “Don’t, Emmanuel, Emmanuel Todd Lopez.”
He’s obsessed with the camera, Blake told the Washington Post in a joint video interview with the emu — and obsessed with her. “Wherever I am, he should always be next to me.”
The rebellious bird is celebrated on the internet. His first appearance on the TikTok channel “Knuckle Bump Farms” has already been clicked nine million times. A compilation of various videos on Twitter has been viewed more than 23 million times. “Be uncontrollable. Be the Emmanuel you want the world to see,” commented one user.
