Dangerous use for the fire brigade in Lustenau in Vorarlberg. Improperly disposed old materials exploded over and over in a burning mountain of garbage.
Just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the Lustenau Police Inspectorate was informed that the contents of a waste compactor had been set on fire and that the cargo had been unloaded for safety reasons in a gravel parking lot near the football stadium. When officers arrived, the dump was already ablaze. It was not entirely harmless: there were always uncontrolled explosions – presumably because a number of old materials had not been properly disposed of, including various aerosol cans.
Finally, the Lustenau fire brigade arrived with two vehicles and a 15-strong fire brigade. The Floriani disciples were able to put out the fire within minutes, after which the waste was removed by employees of the local construction site. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident and there was no damage to the waste compactor.
