The mysterious death of a 13-year-old Tuesday evening in Döbling caused a deep shock. After the autopsy it is clear: no third party fault!
The shock in the Grätzel – and beyond – runs deep. As reported Tuesday morning, the body of a 13-year-old was discovered in the Sievering neighborhood, far outside the city limits.
The girl had been missing since the night before after not returning from a walk. The victim was lying on the edge of a meadow that directly connects to Sieveringer Straße (near Gspöttgraben) – and is therefore only a stone’s throw from his home.
When the detectives of the National Criminal Investigation Service arrived, they were initially surprised: the body showed no external injuries, but a crime could not be ruled out. So an autopsy was ordered, the result was available on Wednesday: According to this, the teenager died a purely natural death. Point. Out of respect for the family, the police are not making any further announcements.
Commentary Oliver Papacek:
Only someone who has children of their own can imagine the pain that the girl’s parents go through. And then only remotely. That the authorities declined to comment on the tragic case is understandable and shows that you can trust them. But that also leaves a lot of room for speculation. During a local inspection of the “Krone” on Wednesday, residents already gathered different stories. About wild parties in the nearby quarry, about drugs and alcohol. And about the fact that maybe she wasn’t alone…
