Temperatures over 30 degrees don’t just make people sluggish. Current temperatures are also a burden to wildlife.
“Wild animals also look for shady spots on the mountains and in the forests,” says nature expert Dietmar Streitmaier: “The activity also decreases and the animals forage around.”
Like the adult brown bear who recently fell into the photo trap of “Krone” editor and hunter Hannes Wallner: “I set up the wildlife camera on a game trail on a Gailtaler Alm to see what animals are on the road here.”
The footage shows a large Carinthian bear lying down, closing his eyes and just happily falling asleep. “That’s completely normal,” explains expert Streitmaier: “Just like humans, wild animals get lazy when it’s hot and seek out cool places. Anyway, they are spectacular shots.”
