Less than 24 hours after Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement on the export of millions of tons of grain, Kiev reports that several missiles have hit the port of Odessa. “The enemy attacked the port of Odessa with Kalibr cruise missiles. Two missiles hit the infrastructure of the port,” said Serhiy Brachuk, a representative of the Odessa region.
Only Friday was a solution found together with Russia for the export of millions of tons of grain from war-torn Ukraine (see video above). Both countries signed the corresponding agreements separately in Istanbul, brokered by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
This “opens the way for large-scale commercial food exports from three key Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea – Odessa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhnyy,” Guterres said of the deal, which is “a deal for the world.”
On Saturday morning, the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, one of the largest ports on the Black Sea, was bombed.
At least three people have been killed and nine others injured in a rocket attack in the Kirovohrad region, Ukrainian sources say. The Russian army fired a total of 13 rockets from warships and fighter-bombers on Saturday morning, including at the Kanatovo military airport and a facility of the Ukrainian railway company, the head of the military administration, Andriy Rajkovich, said on the news channel Telegram. .
According to Rajkowitsch, a soldier and two workers at a transformer station were killed in the attacks. He called on people not to ignore the air raid sirens and to seek shelter. So far, the area in the central part of Ukraine has been relatively untouched by Russian attacks. However, the Russian Defense Ministry had already reported shelling at the military airport in the past.
Multiple explosions reported
The Ukrainian authorities also reported a large number of explosions from other parts of the country. The Mykolaiv region was attacked with six rockets, it said. Nine people are said to have been injured after Russian shelling in the Donetsk region. This information could not be verified by an independent party.
