A serious accident occurred on Saturday evening in the Bregenzerwald in Vorarlberg. An 18-year-old driver’s license holder went off the road with his Toyota and first skidded over a gently sloping hill before falling 40 meters down a slope. The young man was trapped in his car and seriously injured.
The 18-year-old driver was driving on the L 48 from Schwarzenberg towards Bersbuch on Saturday morning at about 3:05 a.m. when he swerved off the road for reasons that are unclear. As a result, the car hit a street lamp and skidded about 180 meters down a gently sloping hill.
At the end of the hill, the vehicle then fell down a steep 40-meter slope and overturned several times. The seriously injured driver had to be rescued from the wreckage of his totally destroyed Toyota by the Egg and Schwarzenberg fire brigade with rescue scissors and taken to hospital.
