In the course of a dispute, a 40-year-old allegedly beat his partner (36) and attacked him with a knife on Saturday afternoon in Vienna-Floridsdorf. Their daughter (12) wanted to help the mother and is said to have been beaten on the upper arm by her father when she tried. The mother was able to flee to a neighbor with her daughter and son (7) and alerted the police.
Officials from the Police Command of the City of Floridsdorf, the Vienna Standby Unit and WEGA drove to the affected address and were able to temporarily detain the suspect in the apartment. An entry and approach ban and a temporary arms ban were also issued against the Armenian. The knife was secured.
The daughter was not injured in the incident, the mother suffered head injuries and was taken to a hospital by a Viennese rescue service. There is no danger to life. The Vienna State Police, the northern branch, has taken over the investigation. The hearings will take place during the daytime on Sunday.
