Systematic lung examinations for war refugees from the Ukraine war started this week in Carinthia. The reason: the risk of tuberculosis! The disease is more common in Ukraine…
War refugees from Ukraine will have their lungs examined in the future, Gerd Kurath of the state press service confirms. A separate investigation bus tours the Carinthian refugee quarters – privately housed refugees receive invitations for the investigation from the district administration authorities.
2000 refugees registered so far
Nearly 2,000 refugees from Ukraine have been registered in Carinthia since Monday. About 600 people will be housed privately, about 300 will be housed in emergency shelters – that is, guest houses and hotels – or in the Federal Asylum Center in Villach-Langauen. The state of Carinthia assumes that in the coming days and weeks more people will come from Ukraine to Austria and also to the southern state.
