A teenager (16) violated the quarantine rules and was given a suspended sentence in the regional court of Salzburg on Monday. He made a confession.
A 16-year-old from Pongau went to a busy restaurant in Bad Gastein three times in just four days at the end of February – endangering a number of diners with a Covid infection.
The local had already tested positive on February 24 – with a CT value of 19.5. Still, on February 26, just two days later, he went to a restaurant where a total of 120 people were dining at the time. The next day he visited the restaurant again. And two days later even a third time.
Four months in prison
As a result, the youngster had to answer to the Salzburg Regional Court on Monday for $178 StGB – deliberately endangering people through communicable diseases. During the trial, the suspect immediately confessed. The criminal court of the regional court announced four months in prison with probation. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
