The regulation on corona entry restrictions to Austria was revised on Tuesday and will come into effect on August 1. Vaccination certificates for young people under the age of 18 therefore no longer have an expiry date. For adults, the amendment to the law does not change, the validity of full vaccinations expires after 270 days.
The current entry restrictions are intended for countries with a high epidemiological risk. There are currently no countries on this list.
Also new is that the vaccine Convidecia from the Chinese vaccine company CanSino Biologics is included in the list of valid vaccinations. This is a vector vaccine for adults that only requires one dose. After four to six months, the injection of a booster is recommended. Vaccination should protect 58 percent against mild symptoms and 92 percent against severe disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in a press release. The WHO approved the use of the Chinese vaccine on May 19.
