The union has denounced that 57% of the workforce of the Basque government is temporary and that almost 80% have more than 3 years of seniority; advocates one exceptional trajectory of 4,500 positions in which temporary staff are consolidated where experience is decisive.
The ELA union has a four hour break (between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.) Basque administration and in its autonomous organizations (Osalan, Lanbide and Ibaiondo) next Tuesday the 12th, so that the Basque Executive “changes course” and achieves “a guarantee consolidation process” for the 4,500 temporary workers.
ELA, at a press conference in Vitoria, denounced the “dramatic” employment situation in the Autonomous Administration, where “57% of the staff are temporary and almost 80% have more than 3 years of seniority”.
He accuses the Basque government of making employment insecure and betting on privatization of this area, since in the categories with more workers, the last call for OPE “was held more than 20 years ago and the average age of these workers is more than 55 year”.
To put an end to this situation ELA claims one exceptional process of 4,500 seats consolidating temporary staff, where experience is key, stabilizing those who have changed positions on behalf of services to fill the positions they do not hold, and establishing the law of bodies and scales after the consolidation processes.
ELA has denounced in a statement that the Basque government plans to launch two job interviews, “but there are at least 900 places missing”, and believes that it does not propose any guarantee procedures, as it institutes qualification exams without the experience is decisive.
