The trade unions ELA, CIM and UGT have announced new stoppages in the metro for the Aste Nagusia days in Bilbao between 9 p.m. and 12 noon. According to union sources, these new strikes are in response to “the continued rudeness to the committee and the new violations of deadlines and meetings that are a deliberate lack of respect for the company’s staff and its union representation.”
In a joint note, the three union federations criticized that two weeks after its last meeting with management, the company summoned the committee for a new meeting next Friday, where it announced it would present a new proposal for an agreement.
However, the unions will continue this Thursday at 8.30pm, and “without notice” they have canceled the meeting and moved it to August 2.
This decision, in his opinion, assumes a “disrespect” towards the staff and their union representation and shows “the blockage and ignoring” of the company.
In this way, they believe that given this “constant rudeness” of the management, they are forced to call new strikes from August 20 to 29, both including, in the middle of rush hour during the Aste Nagusia days in Bilbao.
Finally, the three unions want to make “clear” that it is the company, “with its position and passivity”, that “forced us to take this new pressure measure” and add new strikes to the strikes already declared September . .
