According to the RKI, according to current knowledge, men who have had sexual contact with other men are ill in the vast majority of cases. Women were affected in only five cases and no cases were reported in children. On July 22, Austria registered 99 cases of monkey pox.

WHO calls for the right strategy
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently said that the rapid spread of the disease can be stopped. This is possible with the right strategies in the right groups. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Saturday declared a global health emergency, the WHO’s highest alert level. Until now, the United Nations organization had only classified the coronavirus pandemic and polio as international health emergencies.
