The ÖBB commuter Tamara Grasberger from Böheimkirchen strongly criticizes the railway activities – it has never been this bad. The ÖBB apologizes for the increased delays on the route between Böheimkirchen and Vienna.
Tamara Grasberger is actually a convinced train commuter. And that for 21 years, because since then she goes to Vienna. “As a commuter, you must of course occasionally accept a 15-minute delay or that a train has to be cancelled. But it hasn’t been as bad as it is for 21 years,” said the 42-year-old, who criticized ÖBB heavily. Since the start of the holiday, delays of more than an hour have often occurred, which is a 50-year journey. minutes is very serious.
“Real tips” in the past week
An hour delay was definitely not the best. It was especially bad the week before, when there were serious incidents and delays for three days. Monday of this week, when the woman from Böheimkirch would have come home very late without her partner and his car, the camel’s back overflowed: “We are close to Hütteldorf because the locomotive is broken. Of course the air conditioning does not work, it is very hot in the train, there is nothing to drink, there are many children and the elderly here,” she tells the “Krone”.
Delays often lead to train cancellations
Grasberger also criticizes that trains are often delayed by 15 minutes and are then suddenly canceled altogether. “Travelling to Vienna by train has many advantages. But let’s see how long it takes ÖBB before I don’t want it anymore,” she says.
Many incidents and outside influences
The ÖBB regrets that there have been “some acute disruptions” on the route. Despite many efforts, there were technical defects and outside influences, such as people on the track, accidents or fires. “It is clear to me that statistics are of no use to those affected. Nevertheless, in 2021, 97 percent of ÖBB trains arrived on time, making us the most punctual railways in Europe,” apologizes ÖBB spokesman Christopher Seif.
