It is the most modern small animal clinic in Europe! The top doctors of the University of Veterinary Medicine take care of the well-being of our four-legged friends. Local inspection “Krone” in a special hospital in Vienna-Floridsdorf.
Whining is rarely heard, rather cheerful barking predominates. Or purring contentedly. It’s no different with the friendly and rambunctious Flat Coated Retriever “Jimmy”, whom we meet happily wagging his tail in the hallway of the newly opened “State of the Art” veterinary clinic in Floridsdorf. Pure feel-good atmosphere for dogs, cats and other four-legged friends – but also top medical care!
“We cover all areas”
“Just like in human medicine, we cover all areas – from oncology to dentistry, gynaecology, obstetrics and radiology and even more. There is also an isolation ward for infectious patients,” assures Dr. Armin Pirker of Small Animal Surgery.
In the future, up to 35,000 four-legged patients can be optimally cared for in Floridsdorf every year. “We set international standards in every way. Because the training of the students is also being lifted to a new level”, assures Vetmed rector Petra Winter.
In fact, nothing was left to chance. Certainly not in the intensive care unit with 24-hour surveillance. During our on-site inspection, the doctors – a total of 150 doctors and 50 nurses – looked after a cat. In another operating room, a sedated sheepdog is carefully treated with a dental procedure.
Award for special cat friendliness
The sweet “Jimmy”, on the other hand, is already clearly on the mend. And he is already allowed on the green terrace, which has been set up as a special walking area for all dogs. The hospital is also certified with the coveted Cat Friendly Clinic seal of approval. Four-legged friends in need of healing are in the best and competent hands. Absolute love for animals included!
