US dentist millionaire Lawrence Rudolph (67) made his wife’s murder look like an accident. But the police eventually caught up with him.
Lawrence and Bianca Rudolph both shared a passion for big game hunting. However, Bianca would never return from a safari trip to southern Africa. The man told Zambian police that he had found his wife, who was only 34 at the time, bleeding in the bathroom. Bianca allegedly shot herself in the chest by accident. Investigators and the insurance company both investigated the case and concluded that Bianca’s death was an accident. So the insurance company paid the dentist 4.8 million euros.

No one would have thought then that he would have shot his wife because of the life insurance – after all, Rudolph himself has several millions. For years, the bloody crime also went undetected — until in 2020, the widower started fighting in a restaurant with then-lover (now girlfriend) Lori Milliron at a restaurant. There, he fervently confessed to the 64-year-old, “I killed my damn wife for you.”
Possible death penalty
An independent coroner’s investigation eventually revealed the dentist’s story. The prosecutor’s office had previously proven that the deadly shot had been fired from a distance of one to three and a half meters. Now the jury in Denver (US) has found the man guilty after a three-week trial. Lawrence’s murder conviction carries a life sentence, in the worst case the death penalty.
