Gabby Petito Murder Case – Family Sues Police for $50 Million

Date:

The family of Gabby Petito, who was murdered last year, is suing police for $50 million. “While the evidence has not yet been fully released, it will show that Gabby Petito would still be alive if the police had been properly trained and obeyed the law,” said a family lawyer.

Petito hadn’t returned from a trip with boyfriend Brian Laundrie last summer. Her body was found in September. Cause of death: strangulation.

Earlier there had been a police action following a dispute. Footage from an officer’s body camera (see video above) shows Petito, 22, crying as she said she beat her fiancé during an argument. But there is said to be a witness who claims that 23-year-old Laundrie beat his girlfriend.

The patrol separated the couple for one night and then let them continue their journey. A month later, Petito was reported missing and was eventually found dead. An investigation had already accused the officials of numerous unintentional mistakes.

Notebook found with murder confession
The police would have ignored this, the family said. Wasser committed suicide. He confessed to murder. According to the FBI, the 23-year-old wrote down a confession in a found notebook.
