Smuggling to India – arms trade went through headquarters in Austria

Date:

Spectacular attack on the Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi (India): a couple of brothers were caught with 45 weapons in the trolleys. While “just” are blank pistols, only a few simple steps are needed to turn them into deadly tools, according to Indian experts. The authorities soon learned that there was a long-standing system of two Indian brothers behind it.

In the early 2000s, one of the two managed to obtain a visa for Austria. Landed in Vienna, Manjit S. made contact with arms dealers and smelled the big money. With brother Jagjit, he eventually opened a mock clothing store in our country – through which the illegal trade took place.

Some of the “hot goods” were shipped, some transported personally. And the trade was lucrative: they bought the pistols for about 70 euros each – they collected up to 700 euros for them in India. And the demand was great. Investigators believe the brothers smuggled up to a thousand pistols over the years.

Large landowners thanks to illegal deals
The brothers built a good life with the profits from the illegal trade. The family ties have acquired five plots of land and a farm in India. They even wanted to expand to the US. However, they did not get a work visa there (unlike here)…
